About the life and work of Marjon de Jong, among other things, with a part of her artwork ‘Into Space’ on the cover.
Her place in this book among the celebrities of Zen history can be considered the crowning glory of her work as she will celebrate her 40th anniversary as a Sumi-E artist in 2025.

In 'De vonk en de vlam' ('The Spark and the Flame') five lives of people, who have tried to express the essence of Zen, are portrayed. The spark of Zen once ignited in the lives of the Zen masters Dogen, Basho and Ryokan, the English writer R.H. Blyth and the Dutch Sumi-E master and artist Marjon de Jong. Each in their own way passed on that fire to the next generations.

Documentaire opnieuw uitgezonden

IJsselbiënnale 2021

Marjon de Jong is geselecteerd om haar werk te exposeren tijdens de IJsselbiënnale.
De langste kunstroute van Nederland langs de IJssel en Hanzesteden.
Haar werk is van 18 juni tot 28 juli 2021 te zien in Deventer bij Atelier Komma.

Filmregisseur Alexander Oey aan het filmen in het atelier van Marjon de Jong

De bekende filmregisseur en documentairemaker Alexander Oey (VPRO/NPS/BOS) heeft in opdracht van de KRO-NCRV in 2019 een documentaire gemaakt over Marjon de Jong als Sumi-E Meester, haar werk en haar leven.

Deze documentaire met als titel ‘De Schoonheid van de Leegte’ is op 7 april 2019 voor het eerst uitgezonden op TV. Onlangs is de documentaire opnieuw uitgezonden op 24 oktober 2021 op NPO 2 in het programma De Boeddhistische Blik.
